DESIGN NOTES

The collar in the Ascent features a lower set point in front and tapered design to increase comfort when fully zipped. We also used a YKK semi-auto lock zipper which has a textured rubber pull for better gripping. The biggest advantage of a locking zipper is the ability for the wearer to singlehandedly unzip and open their jersey for venting. Merely flip the pull up to unlock the zipper. Then, with one hand, the jersey can be pulled open. Flip the pull back down to lock the zipper pull in place. Pockets have been designed to include a stretchy and more durable opening and an innovative bellows at the bottom that expands when stuffed with larger objects. And finally, we removed the waist gripper from the front half of the jersey, not only to reduce weight, but to create more comfort and less binding when in the riding position.

The lightweight and super-breathable Apex MTB jersey has been created to perform exceptionally well in a variety of conditions. Whether climbing or descending, or bombing along some singletrack, we wanted to develop a garment that could be paired with or without a hydration pack and would provide lasting comfort on any trail attacking adventures.

FABRIC AND CONSTRUCTION

BreathLITE fabric is used in the rear body and sleeves to achieve optimal breathability and moisture transfer whether wearing a hydration pack or not. The soft, silk-like feel of the Run-Lite fabric used in the front body panel and neckline provides soft, abrasion resistant comfort. Both the BreathLITE and Run-Lite fabrics feature a tough snag-resistant resilience. The seams on the shoulders have been shifted forward to avoid a potential pressure points when used with a hydration backpack. The Apex Jersey offers a contoured design for a slim body-shaping fit.

The Alpine Thermal has been designed for cool/cold weather rides and/or commuting in predominantly dry conditions. Because of it's 3 rear pockets, zippered valuables pocket, breathable, stretch fabric and reflective features, this jersey is one of the most versatile garments we manufacture. Alone it performs well in temperatures ranging between 40-65°F, with various vest and base layer combinations you can easily stay warm down into the low 30's. Reflective placements are subtle, yet extremely bright (350+ Lumens), and have been strategically placed for maximum visibility; on the forearms and down either side of the rear pockets.

The locking YKK zipper also has reflectivity down both sides of the teeth. We've been especially meticulous about the pocket design to ensure practical usability and optimal packability of cold weather supplies; a slightly-wider center, "dump" pocket makes for ease of use with gloves and allows for storage of a vest, wind/rain jacket or bulky gloves. We've used a durable, Nylon/Spandex stretch-mesh throughout the Tellus Short Liner to maximize breathability and wicking capability, and mesh-knit leg bands with silicone grippers for a secure fit. Unlike most MTB-style liners, we sourced a top-shelf, Elastic Interface® chamois. We chose it for it's smaller footprint that won’t get hung up on your saddle, and because of the advanced foam package that will keep you comfortable for long days in the saddle. 

While designed to be paired with the Tellus Short, the Tellus Short Liner can actually be worn with any short that does not have a liner.
